Planetary Geophysics was established in 2006 by principals with over 50 years experience between them in mineral exploration geophysics.
Planetary employs a suite of Consultants, Geophysicists, Geo-Scientists, Geologists and Technicians with extensive experience in Mineral, Geothermal, Oil & Gas exploration around the world.
Key areas of expertise in data acquisition, data processing and interpretation are (but not limited to):

Our Team
Mike Sexton
Chief Geophysicist
Mike has over 40 years' experience in mineral exploration and hydrological geophysics. His experience is highly regarded throughout the exploration industry. Mike has been involved with several exploration successes within Australia and offshore and has also published several peer reviewed papers within the ASEG and SEG societies.
Mike's career spans time with Anaconda, the Northern Territory Geological Society, Newmont Australia, Newcrest, Normandy Mining where he was Chief Geophysicist for a number of years and Newmont Mining Corporation which he left in late 2005 to pursue his consultancy ambitions.
Mark Winter
General Manager
Mark has worked as a geophysical technician for over 40 years in over 20 countries and is one of the foremost DC electrical operators in operation today. Mark has worked for majors and juniors alike and has been contracted as a dedicated contractor to Normandy Mining and Newmont Mining for nearly 20 of his 25 years in the field.
In June 2006 Mike Sexton and Mark joined forces to form Planetary Geophysics.

Managing Director
Alan brings nearly two decades of experience with Planetary Geophysics, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company's global presence. Alan has been instrumental in driving operational excellence across diverse international markets. His comprehensive understanding of geophysical methods, project execution, and cross-border logistics is complemented by a strategic approach to business development and stakeholder engagement. Alan’s leadership supports the company’s growth in complex and evolving environments, making him a key contributor to Planetary Geophysics’ sustained success.
Mat Davies
Senior Project Coordinator
Mat joined Planetary Geophysics in 2008 and brings two decades of experience in operational, project, risk, and compliance management across 20+ countries on most continents. His strong technical and operations background enables him to effectively manage projects of all logistical complexities across a wide range of global jurisdictions.
Regina Foley
Business Management / Accounting
Regina joined Planetary Geophysics at it's inception in 2006 and brings numerous business skills to the table, with years of experience as National Administration Assistant for Canon Australia, Tech.
